Online Store Opening

Dear friendly shopper,

With fear and trepidation, we open our little online storefront. Gretchen and I have been working for the past few months to transfer our craft into the retail world, first to a fair called Mack's Merry Market at Sycamore Farm in Terre Haute. The fair was wonderful, and Christmas cheer was quite abound. We would like to thank all of the local folks who came out to support our business and the other artisans brave enough to bear their wares at the fair. A merry bunch.

We will open with a little over a dozen candles. Each of these can be found and ordered directly on the "store" page of this website. While twelve of the candles will stay available for some time, the remaining few are seasonal (and marked as such). You can expect those to rotate throughout the year. We are between seasons, so you can expect to see new and additional scents in the weeks to come.

There will be updates on this blog as the seasons change to notify our patrons of new scents. We will also highlight brick & mortar shops and festivals/fairs (look for us at Hobnob Hoopla in March) that carry our candles in posts at the beginning of each month.

As we announce our shop from the trumpets of the sky, this Winter Emerson poem is called to mind, which we will leave you with as the months turn cold and often brown, but sometimes if we're lucky, snow white.

Our deepest thanks,

Marilyn and Gretchen

"Announced by all the trumpets of the sky
Arrives the snow, and, driving o'er the fields,
Seems nowhere to alight: the whited air
Hides hills and woods, the river, and the heaven,
And veils the farmhouse at the garden's end.
The sled and traveler stopped, the courier's feet
Delayed, all friends shut out, the housemates sit
Around the radiant fireplace, enclosed
In a tumultuous privacy of storm..."

-Ralph Waldo Emerson, The Snowstorm
